  Density: Hard wood

  Traits: This is a light brownish wood with silver   grain. It is heavier and hardher than red oak. difficult   to cut but workable. Difficult to bend and will crack.

  Used in: Used by fine woodworkers for ornate   pieces such as instruments, particularly pianos,   panelling, elaborate fixtures and furniture.
